At last glance the average number of job seekers to every available position is estimated to be around 17 to 1. In my book that’s a pretty big number. In some instances that may be discouraging. To put a positive spin on it, there are jobs out there. While reading this you might think those are pretty slim odds. But fear not, it can be done and is being done on a regular basis.
Remember a hiring manager or recruiter is just a person too. He or she only has so many hours in the day to fill that opening. Understanding how they search or source candidates, what they look for and where are paramount for you to win their attention.
In the next few weeks I will release some of the tips and tricks I’ve learned in the job search. Equally I will share what I’ve learned from those who search for employees.
No one likes change. But if your current job search efforts aren’t giving results change may be what you need.
